Location: the hotel was close to Shetland ponies in a paddock, and Ancre river with peacocks roaming free and Shetland ponies in a paddock. Truly enjoyed the family room I was given, it had a safe, a sofa bed, and central heating. The atmosphere created was family.

Garden with BBQ facilities: I felt like I was grilling in my own backyard, surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful garden views. A perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a delicious BBQ feast after a long day of exploring.
Hairdryer: It was a minor inconvenience that the hairdryer in the bathroom wasn't very powerful.

I stayed here for 2 nights and I'm already planning my next visit. the location of this place is fantastic, right in the heart of the city. Plus, it only takes a short 15-minute drive to reach L'ilot de la Boisselle - great for a day trip! 🚗

The room was cozy and comfy, with a flat-screen TV perfect for binge-watching and a tea/coffee maker for morning pick-me-ups. It felt like my own little sanctuary after a long day exploring.
I personally wasn't a big fan of the hairdryer in the bathroom, but hey, that's just my preference.

As someone interested in the Remembrance Trail, I stayed at Domaine D'Aveluy for a couple of nights. The setting was idyllic with beautiful grounds, a lake, and the Aveluy river nearby. The owners were accommodating, even with our late check-in due to a delayed flight. The continental breakfast was delicious, offering a variety of options including scrambled eggs, charcuterie, croissants, and fresh fruit. The rooms were in a separate part of the house, with a spacious kitchen and lounge area for guests. it was a gem of a hotel and a perfect base for exploring the WW1 Somme battle locations.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.
